What 3 words best describe your work?
Organized, happy, thoughtful.
Tell us about your company name.
I think producing events requires a level of creativity and passion, making it an art form. My grandma, who was and is dear to my heart, had a fond love of flamingos, and I've always surrounded myself with flamingo-esque items. Therefore, Artmingo was born!
Why should someone hire you?
I love my job. I love LOVE and seeing people happy. I love being a part of such a magnificent moment in someone's life! Whether it's coordinating, planning, floral or catering, I am so honored to contribute some of my skillset to their wedding day. I always hope to bring my couples peace and joy, and provide an amazing 5-star service.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
I've always planned events and I love being a hostess. I have always been the one in the family everyone turns to for parties, cooking, and holidays. I have such a love for creating, organizing, and following through with plans! I woke up one day October 2020, mid-pandemic, and decided I wanted to help people get married in their backyards. And Artmingo was born!
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?
Mindy Weiss and Lisa Vanderpump. Two incredible women with a variety of skills. They are beyond #girlboss, and are both such an inspiration to me. I also have a very earthy, boho style and I love to get creative with my work.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
I loved seeing a Celtic Knot tying ceremony for the first time. Any special unity ceremonies during the formal wedding ceremony make my heart so happy. I also have had not one, but two venues catch on fire – the first we were hired the week that it happened; the 2nd we were already hired but the venue had an electrical fire the day of! I replanned their wedding on the drive over. It was a chaotic but memorable day, and my couple was so happy to just get married, toes in the sand, head over heels in love.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
When my couple is over the moon in love with each other, and they trust their decisions and the wedding planning process. These couples always are the happiest, and I always walk away with such a fulfilled heart!
What have weddings taught you?
How to function in absolute chaos, and how to problem solve when everything goes wrong. From venues catching on fire to vendors no-showing; we've seen so much over the years!!
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Don't be anyone other than who you are. Don't plan for more than you can afford. The goal is to be married, and to proudly declare to the world "this is my husband/this is my wife/this is my partner". Don't look to social media to create a "perfect" vision - make it about the love, and the merging of 2 lives!
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
Snapping my fingers and having the event cleaned up - LOL!
What are 3 words that describe your personality?
Happy, bubbly, thoughtful.
What's your favorite book/movie/work of art?
The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm; Howl's Moving Castle; any of my grandmas art :)
What's your favorite quote?
""You miss 100% of the shots you never take" —Wayne Gretzky" —Michael Scott"
What's your favorite marriage advice?
You need to love and accept every version of your partner; people grow and change, and our hearts need to be open and ready to receive all versions of our partners.
I love to make artwork, hike, watch movies with my kids, and cook!
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
Maybe be a landscape or animal photographer. Or a painter. Or a WWE wrestler.
What’s your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
A good glass of wine, cuddling with my kiddos and dogs, and watching a movie!
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
I have two dogs, Albus Dumblefluff and Gandalf the Tan. They look exactly how you think they do.
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?
I am obsessed with Juniper & Ivy in San Diego – some of the best food ever! Convivo in Santa Barbara is also amazing, and I've had some great sushi at Ozen in Rancho Cucamonga!
