Why You Need a Wedding Day Emergency Kit + What To Include!

Reason #4837 why you need a Wedding Day Emergency Kit…

As maid of honor for my sister's wedding, I (Denise) wore a strapless dress.

Now I don't know about you, but I'm no Heidi Klum. I'll probably never be asked to model bras for Victoria's Secret if you know what I mean, so I needed to make sure that strapless gown stayed put against all odds. I'd worn a strapless dress at weddings before, and I have to admit: I spent half the night pulling my dress up.

I wasn't interested in constantly monitoring my dress' coordinates at my sister's reception, so I made an appointment to have my dress altered 2 weeks before the wedding. When I got the dress back from the seamstress, I was thrilled. It fit like a glove! It passed every test: jumping up and down, dancing, sitting, you name it.

The day of the wedding, I put my dress on—and to my horror, it felt loose. I guess those last few spin classes did more than I wanted them to! Luckily, one of the bridesmaids had fashion tape in her bag. I'd never used it before, but all I could hear in my head was Tim Gunn saying, "Make it work!" We lined the very top of the dress with a couple of pieces of tape, and I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best...

I'm proud to say that fashion tape saved my life! My dress didn't budge all night—and let me tell you—I put it to the test and danced my butt off!

This is just one example of why it's *crucial* to have a Wedding Day Emergency Kit. This small makeup bag filled with "just in case" items can fix most of those little wedding-day problems—and end up saving the day!

Got a pounding headache pre-ceremony? Pop an Advil. Corner of your eyelash coming unglued? Whip out that tube of DUO and grab those tweezers. Did you spill some red wine or bust a seam? Luckily you've packed some Shout Wipes and a mini sewing kit! From double-sided tape to deodorant, an emergency kit can be a real lifesaver on the big day.
