Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

Since its 1991 inauguration, the Torrance Cultural Arts Center has become a mecca for all types of events, including thousands of bridal showers, wedding receptions, parties and dinners. With its many different event venues, this unique complex easily sparks the imagination of many a bride or event planner. The spacious facilities spread out in a series of lofty buildings joined together by open spaces, such as a sweeping entry plaza, a large courtyard and a serene Japanese Garden.

The most popular reception room is the Toyota Meeting Hall. This room has high ceilings and a bright foyer for pre-dinner gatherings. An entire wall of glass doors opens onto the Torino Festival Plaza, an inner courtyard that accommodates tented seating or simply affords diners a place to mingle in the fresh air. A fully equipped professional kitchen is accessible to any licensed caterer.

The Ken Miller Recreation Center offers two event spaces with a shared kitchen connected by an open lobby. The Auditorium benefits from lots of natural light, and its stage will accommodate a DJ or small band with ease. The adjoining Assembly Room features hardwood floors and track lighting.

Couples getting married here often like to have their ceremony in the natural environment of the Pine Wind Japanese Garden, which contains two waterfalls, a small stream and a pond. As you enter this diminutive world (it holds approximately 60 people), you're greeted by the sound of rushing water. The wide modern fountain by the entrance releases a continuous sheet of falling water; the more romantic rock-lined waterfall in the garden's center serves as a beautiful backdrop for a ceremony or formal photo shoot. Guests may sit on redwood risers in the small amphitheater, or stand above the garden on an overlooking walkway. Afterward, they'll enjoy wandering along a circular pathway of stepping stones leading through a landscape of dainty bonsai, maple trees and bamboo.

Adjacent to the garden, the Garden Room provides a more intimate space for a bridal shower, or preparation for a wedding party holding their ceremony at the center. A custom wall divider and two separate entrances allow flexibility in the room setup, and guests will appreciate the view of the Pine Wind Japanese Garden through large picture windows.

With an easy, accessible location, free parking, competitive rental rates, and a professional staff, the Torrance Cultural Arts Center promises to make your event a success.
