Why We Like This Place

The Pasadena Convention Center is a spectacular boutique venue for galas, weddings and special events. It offers a wide variety of event sites, so, brides, whatever style of celebration you have in mind they can make it happen!

Guests are impressed as soon as they arrive: As they walk across the 22,000-square-foot plaza, which spreads out along the front of the historic Civic Auditorium, they’re treated to a wonderful view of the San Gabriel Mountains in the distance and City Hall as the backdrop. The plaza’s beautiful tiled surface is perfect for a ceremony, an al fresco cocktail reception, or a convenient valet drop-off before moving inside for the main festivities.

The 25,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom—the largest one in the San Gabriel Valley—can be divided into 10 separate sections to comfortably accommodate an intimate gathering of 100 or a party for over 1,000 guests. Its neutral, modern interior is a blank canvas on which you can paint your own vision. The ballroom is also equipped with state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems and provides internet and WiFi access. Another plus: it opens to an 11,000-square-foot lobby with a sparkling terrazzo floor and artistic, freeform chandeliers. This foyer is ideal for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and can be turned into an inviting lounge area.

Weddings may be held in the main conference building’s lower level, which houses another chic, contemporary event space. Done in soft grays and off-white, it complements almost any color scheme. Hang swags of fabric from the ceiling for an element of softness and movement, or add whimsical string lighting for a dramatic effect. Brides enjoy tossing their bouquet over the sleek metal railing on the upper level.

On the second floor of the Civic Auditorium you’ll find the elegant Gold Room, featuring a rosette ceiling and elaborate moldings. It’s a lovely choice for a smaller wedding ceremony and reception.

Recently restored, the Historic Exhibition Hall/Ballroom boasts a 30-foot ceiling, tall arched windows, and chandeliers original to the building. With over 17,000 square feet, it can easily host a large affair.

The Pasadena Convention Center’s in-house culinary professionals are happy to customize your menu. They specialize in California cuisine with a focus on fresh, locally grown ingredients. The center has also implemented a host of “go green” initiatives, which should please environmentally conscious couples.

In addition to being a unique place for your event, the Center is a great destination for your guests! The facility is close to the Burbank and Los Angeles airports and just blocks from Old Pasadena, a historic area filled with shops, boutiques, restaurants, clubs, and hotels, all within walking distance. Museums, golf and live theater are nearby as well.

CEREMONY AND EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Several flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces accommodate more intimate gatherings to large extravaganzas for over 1,000 guests. With a dance floor and banquet-style seating, the Gold Room accommodates 150; the Lower Level Conference Building and Historic Exhibition Hall C, 500 each; and the Grand Ballroom 1,000 (2 sections are ideal for 150 each). Without a dance floor, the capacities for these spaces are greater. Please contact the catering department for more details.

MEETING CAPACITY: The Exhibition Hall seats 5,400 guests. Small to large events may be held in several flexible meeting spaces.

Cost: Prices, Deposits, Etc.

A nonrefundable deposit equal to 10% of the estimated food & beverage minimum is required along with a signed contract. An additional deposit of 65% of the total estimated food & beverage balance is required 30 days prior to the event. The remaining balance is due 5 business days prior. A 23% service charge and sales tax applies to all services. The rental fee varies depending on the space(s) reserved.
