Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

Love at first sight. That's what so many couples feel when they walk through the imposing front doors of this historic, architectural masterpiece, located right in the heart of Los Angeles.

Built in 1927 as the final home of the Wilshire Ebell Women's club, the building is a stunning example of the Italian-Renaissance style. All of the elegantly designed rooms, which feature a wealth of elaborate period details, will truly take your breath away. You're welcome to rent the entire venue, but most weddings are held in either the North or South half of the property.

If you choose the North "wing", you'll most likely host your ceremony and reception in The Lounge, a magnificent space with a high, gilded ceiling; dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows; wrought-iron chandeliers; and a mezzanine and grand staircase. It also comes with a grand piano and outdoor patio! The adjoining Art Salon is ideal for your cocktail hour, as well as a treat for the eyes with its tall archways and fabulous art exhibits.

Opt to have your wedding in the South "wing" and you'll enjoy an indoor-outdoor celebration. Ceremonies and cocktail parties take place in the Garden, an expansive courtyard enclosed by picturesque arcades and lined with flowering shrubs and trees. There's a sunny, elevated terrace on one side, and a lower-level lawn with a graceful fountain and statue at its center. When it's time for dinner and dancing, everyone gathers in the adjacent Dining Room. This light-filled space is notable for its carved columns, stage, and bank of tall French doors that open to the courtyard.

The Ebell's warm, attentive Special Events team will work with your coordinator and provide hands-on assistance from beginning to end. And, as you'd expect, the cuisine here is as exceptional as the venue: It showcases local, sustainable, and seasonal ingredients, and the executive chef is happy to customize your menu. Talented mixologists are also available to create handcrafted cocktails.

Whether you're planning a traditional wedding or a more unconventional affair, it's sure to be unique at the Ebell of Los Angeles. As one bride described her magical experience, "From the beautiful venue to the impeccable 5-star service and absolutely delicious food, the Ebell team went above and beyond our dreams to deliver the most perfect, memorable day—one that we will always cherish."
