Take note! If you’re looking for an exceptional East Bay outdoor wedding spot, you must see this facility. Scott’s Garden is a site that could be aptly described as an urban oasis. Situated in the heart of Walnut Creek’s retail district, Scott’s has spared no expense to transform a small hillside into a brick-walled, multi-terraced courtyard garden with a conservatory cover. If you’re worried about the weather, don’t fret—during November through April, the garden is totally glass-enclosed and heated to keep your guests comfortable.

Under the broad canopy of a 400-year-old oak tree (the site’s centerpiece) you’ll find amenities such as designer wood benches and sizable free-standing umbrellas, in addition to lush landscaping. Of special interest are a green lattice aviary, several fountains and an antique water wheel. Observe the details here. All of the terraces are paved with slate, and even the outdoor bar and indoor dressing room feature marble counters. The latter is one of the best bride’s dressing rooms we’ve seen, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and a well-lit makeup area. At the topmost terrace, you’ll find a back stairway leading to Scott’s Restaurant, where there’s another outdoor patio for evening rehearsal dinners and small weekend receptions. Inside the restaurant, additional private and semiprivate rooms are available for parties.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Indoor Garden holds up to 150 seated or standing guests and the outdoor terrace holds 60.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Garden accommodates a maximum of 150 seated guests, 130 with a dance floor, or 150 for a standing reception.

MEETING CAPACITY: Several spaces hold 32–96 seated guests.

A deposit is required to secure your date and the balance is due prior to the event. The rental fee on Saturday is $500; the fee on Sunday and Friday is $350. There is an additional ceremony fee of $250 for the outdoor terrace or $500 for the indoor garden. Rental includes tables, white padded Chiavari chairs, ivory linens, and serviceware. 2-course menu offerings start at $39/person, with an additional cost for hors d’oeuvres and cake. Alcohol, tax, and service fees are additional.
