Why We Like This Place
Guests and visitors from all over the world stroll across Hotel Nikko's vast, art-filled lobby and lounge in its velvet chairs. Through enormous windows they can watch the city bustle by, as the soothing sound of a cascading fountain provides a calming contrast to the whirl of activity outside.
High-rise hospitality and a reputation for service and style have long been the hallmarks of this popular hotel, a sophisticated downtown hostelry that can quite literally look down on its neighbors. A favorite spot for grand gatherings, its 25 floors of public and private spaces offer opportunities for entertaining that most smaller establishments can't match. In addition to the 510 tastefully appointed guest rooms and 22 suites, there are good-sized, subdividable meeting rooms, which are great for social and corporate functions.
But the Nikko Grand Ballroom on the third floor is the pièce de résistance—at over 6,600 square feet, it's perfect for affairs of up to 300 guests. Its Asian contemporary décor, featuring richly textured and burnished wall coverings, dark mahogany floor-to-ceiling doors, and ethereal tulle-inspired chandeliers, will create a warm ambiance for your celebration. The ballroom can be sectioned into three smaller salons: Each one is suitable for a large function in its own right, and can be creatively transformed for a grand reveal or customized theme. The Ballroom Foyer, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, provides an airy, prefunction reception area that can also be enhanced with festive elements.
For high-profile parties with a clubbier feel, ascend to Hotel Nikko's 25th floor where an elegant aerie of glass showcases panoramic bay views in an atmosphere of style and restraint. From the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Golden Gate Room one can see Marin County and the Golden Gate Bridge. Bay View Room vistas include the hotel's Financial District and Union Square neighbors, the wooded East Bay hills, and the silvery Bay Bridge. The Peninsula Room looks south, past AT&T Park, all the way to San Bruno Mountain. Down on the 5th floor, the Outdoor Patio is a stunning choice for an intimate ceremony or cocktail reception. Here, guests can enjoy a glass of bubbly al fresco while savoring the surrounding cityscape.
ANZU Restaurant and Bar lends itself beautifully to an intimate wedding, rehearsal dinner, post-wedding brunch or bridal shower. The entire restaurant can be reserved exclusively for your affair, and the dramatic bar and upscale modern furnishings create a captivating setting so no other decoration is needed.
But the strongest suit of this excellent downtown hotel is service. Legendary Asian hospitality has always been a big part of its legacy, and decades of experience show in the way the expert staff custom caters and creates events with the kind of flair and focus that has earned lofty accolades. From innovative menu design and the careful arrangement of flowers to the care and feeding of its distinguished clientele, the attention to detail is exacting. It's no wonder Hotel Nikko partygoers and guests often book return engagements.
