Why You'll Love This Place
A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue ReviewRead More Show Less
Named after a forest described in Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Ardenwood is a place where you travel back in time—ladies wear Victorian dresses on Historic Days, and the land still grows the kinds of crops it did 100 years ago.
Guests can stroll through the beautiful gardens that surround the Patterson Mansion, the impressive focal point of Ardenwood. Several areas are available for ceremonies and receptions, including an expansive lawn, complete with a white Victorian-style gazebo.
Evening receptions are especially magical, with glowing bistro lights strung over the tables and dance floor, and uplights highlighting the massive trees framing the reception garden. There's a custom-made bar, a wooden arbor lush with wisteria vines, and a border of planter boxes filled with sustainable lavender and succulents. Your guests will be wowed by Big Red, a towering redwood tree dating back to the early 1800s, while they admire you and your new spouse seated right in front of it at the head table.
Ardenwood's variety of gorgeous farm tables are locally sourced and made along with other décor that complements the venue's vintage, garden, and farm themes. Their Something Borrowed Collection also has several rentable items available in-house.
Lovely as it is for weddings, Ardenwood is just as wonderful for picnics. Reserve one of the Deer Park Picnic Areas for your company party or family reunion, and you’ll have exclusive use of it for the day. Your guests won’t be bored either: The long list of activities here includes softball, volleyball, horseshoes, corn hole, giant jenga, ladder golf, and face painting. You can add a hosted game package or even rent a dunk tank. Kids have their own fun in the form of a bounce house and carnival games. The farm offers other special features, too, such as country kitchen demonstrations, antique farm displays, a blacksmith shop, the opportunity to feed farm animals, old-fashioned crafts, and Patterson House tours.
Ardenwood is open to the public during the day, so while your actual event site is private, you may see visitors strolling about outside your area prior to 4:30pm.
