What 3 words best describe your work?
Attentive, detailed, organized.
Tell us about your company name.
The name Tarpy’s Roadhouse comes from a local legend named Matt Tarpy who immigrated from Ireland in 1851. He became a community leader, defending the land and property of his neighbors where the law was unable to help. The area where he was involved in a gunfight become known as “Tarpy Flats,” which is where Tarpy’s Roadhouse now stands.
Why should someone hire you?
Because we take ownership of our work. We’re personally invested in every wedding we help plan and we will work tirelessly to ensure that you do as little as possible and are able to enjoy your special day.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Be in the moment. Someone gave me that advice when I was planning my own wedding and it helped me tremendously. Wedding planning itself is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so enjoy it! Know that there will be stressful moments and hiccups, and chances are good that not everything will go perfectly—but if you stop to reflect on the blessings you have with the person you love, surrounded by your friends and family, you will have a wonderful time.
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
The ability to freeze time. Sometimes it seems that all you need is a little more time.
What's your favorite quote?
“Simplicity is the essence of happiness.”
