Why We Like This Place

  • It’s a historic home on Sugarloaf Mountain. Though it’s just an hour from Baltimore and Washington D.C., this 1915 mansion was built as a woodland escape and it continues to fulfill its purpose. The serene grounds feel a world away from urban life, with quiet forests and fields protecting the stately structure from the march of time.
  • There are three stunning spots for outdoor ceremonies. Formal gardens, views of the surrounding trees and hills, a peaceful pond with a trickling fountain at its center—this estate abounds with pretty places to say your vows.
  • Receptions can be held indoors or out. The mansion has an intimate ballroom with a gleaming floor, period furnishings, and big, arched windows to let in the light. Larger celebrations may be held on the outdoor terrace under the festive tent, which is outfitted with doors that open to reveal the beautiful property and scenery beyond.
