Questions and Answers
What 3 words best describe your work?
Classy, professional and amazing.
Tell us about your company name.
Yazz Jazz Entertainment is a play on my last name, Yassinger. I am a vocalist/bandleader and have developed an entertainment company consisting of quality musicians and DJs.
Why should someone hire you?
I treat each client with respect and give unlimited consultations. Each client has a different vision and I respect that and am honored when they want us to work for them. We honor all special requests and can make all musical visions into a reality. Whether they want just a DJ or a harpist or a full 10-piece orchestra, we can make their wedding dreams come true!
What are the common misconceptions about your services?
Common misconceptions are that we only play Jazz. We play ALL styles of music and cater each event to different clients based on their musical vision and budget.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
When I was studying music in Miami, Florida, my voice teacher hired me as a sub for her wedding band and I loved singing all the styles of music and making people have fun. As a singer and performer, I had fun developing an entertaining and engaging band, but as a leader, I enjoy watching DJs pump up the crowd and make people laugh. At a wedding I was singing at, I met a DJ who became a good friend and helped me grow the DJ side of my wedding business. Why not give clients the opportunity to have live music AND a DJ? It's the best of both worlds!
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
One client was convinced she would never have a wedding but after her father passed away, she decided to have a huge blowout wedding. She hired circus performers to do trapeze acts and dance with the guests and we brought in our 18-piece big band to serenade the crowd. This wedding was featured on the news because it was so spectacular and beautiful.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
The most memorable part of a wedding is when an anniversary dance takes place. It's fun to see all of the married couples dancing together! It's magical when you get to see the longest married couple share their advice to the newlyweds. It is also a great opportunity to see people dance who may normally stay seated throughout the evening.
What have weddings taught you?
Music is the most important part of a wedding. When perfectly timed out, music can make or break your wedding. It is important to have high-quality music and seamlessness during your wedding to maintain the elegance and energy.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Make choices that are best for YOU! Don't let too many chefs in the kitchen.
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
I would love to be able to clone myself.
What are 3 words that describe your personality?
Bubbly, engaging, entertaining.
What's your favorite book/movie/work of art?
It is a tie between Love Actually and When Harry Met Sally.

What's your favorite marriage advice?
Always have a sense of humor no matter what obstacles come your way.
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
