We believe that it’s important to treat Mother Earth nicely. One major way we can do that is to help you plan a green wedding. Whether you want to just do a couple of things (organic flowers, recycled-paper invites) or have your entire event embrace environmentally friendly practices, our articles and blog posts will give you some great “green wedding” ideas. You choose!

My colleague Jan Brenner and I recently combined business with pleasure in Half Moon Bay. With its fun and artsy downtown, exhilarating coastal hikes, and water sports, Half Moon Bay is a day tripper’s delight and a wonderfully easy and rewarding wedding destination—just ask our very own Meredith, who wed her sweetheart on a Half Moon Bay beach!

Eco-Conscious Honeymoons

Eco-Conscious Honeymoons posted by Jennifer

What do you do after your green wedding? Green honeymoon, of course. Love, Honor, Leave No Carbon Footprint from the New York Times talks about the popularity of eco-friendly honeymoons. The article discusses options like travel with volunteering opportunities, “wwoofing” (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms), travel to eco-destinations (some of which are quite luxurious) and of course (very green!) local honeymooning. Clean & Green Registry Picks

Clean & Green Registry Picks posted by Julia

Brides often forget to add a few essential items with smaller price tags to their registry lists, but including these items is a courtesy to the guests who have already contributed a lot to your wedding (hello maids of honor and in-laws!), or younger family members who don’t want to add her name to her parents’ gift. Or you could help make the world a better place by registering for your wedding at ChangingThePresent.org.

Sweet Tarte Goodies

Sweet Tarte Goodies posted by Julia

You might have read about Tarte’s world-famous cheek stains in InStyle, Cosmo, and Self magazines. I myself am a fan of the “flush” and “blushing bride” shades.

Something Borrowed, Something Naughty

Something Borrowed, Something Naughty posted by Lisa

From the moment you designed your first toilet paper wedding dress for Barbie (admit it, your doll sported Charmin Couture just like mine did!), you’ve been wanting to walk down the aisle equipped with something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. The old and new? Easy! Something borrowed? That bracelet you’ve been “borrowing” from your sister for the last 3 years should count. But it’s that “something blue” that stops most brides in their satin Jimmy Choos.
