Fuzzy sweaters and giant inflatable snowmen aren’t the only things that go on sale at the end of the year. Bridal salons also put on year-end sample sales, and it’s a great time to pick up a wedding dress bargain.

Ah, your bridesmaids…those girls who have been there for you for years, living through all your boy-drama and, lately, all your wedding-planning drama. They’re shelling out hundreds to be in your wedding and you’re supposed to give them a gift at the event to show your thanks. My problem is that so often those “attendant” gifts are just…lame.

We know who you are. You like a balance of the city and the natural world. You love the ocean, but you also love the mountains. You are chic, and you also care about your environment. So why not show off your good taste with a little Flair?

Not everyone has the luxury of shopping for their wedding dress in an upscale boutique, flattered and pampered by friends and admiring salespeople. If you’re like me, you have a shoe addiction. Come on, admitting it is half the battle. It’s mostly under control and it doesn’t really get in the way of my daily routine, so I’m proud to say I haven’t started a 12-step program yet. Are you just so flipping crazy about Here Comes The Guide that you tell everyone you meet about it? Personally, I know I probably talk a little too much about how Trader Joe’s saves my keister every day. They should have the cute pink ringer tees like Here Comes The Guide does—and I might be proclaiming my love for them in 100% cotton, too.

I shopped at Victoria’s Secret when I got married. Even in those olden days (13 years ago…or was it 14? Have to check my notes…), the trip to VS was part of the pre-wedding ritual. In real Victorian times, a woman’s trousseau was given to her by female relatives and included lots of white cotton underthings that covered her from neck to ankle.
