For starters, the tentable upper meadow with its two pergolas and broad lawns gives you sightlines to a flower-ringed gazebo as well as sweeping views of the rest of the property. Bonnet House Museum and Gardens
  • Location: 900 North Birch Road, Fort Lauderdale FL

  • Interesting Tidbit: The Bonnet House property was itself a wedding present, given by Hugh Taylor Birch (who had purchased the site in 1895) to his daughter Helen and her husband. The house was built in the 1920s and stayed in the family until 1983, when it was given to the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. At the time, it was the largest charitable gift in Florida history.
