Romantic Getaway in Napa Valley: The Carneros Inn

by Denise Martinez, Director of Vendor Sales

I love to go on vacation, some might call it an obsession, so for me one of the most important elements of my wedding is the honeymoon. After the craziness of wedding planning and all the fun of celebrating with friends and family, I’ll want to go to a relaxing, romantic honeymoon oasis.

When asked where my dream honeymoon would be in California I immediately knew the destination, The Carneros Inn in the Napa/Sonoma Valley Wine Country. Travel + Leisure Magazine named the Inn “One of the Top 25 Romantic Getaways in the World” and I can see why. Surrounded by acres of grapevines, farmland and orchards, you immediately have this feeling that you’ve been transported to the Tuscan countryside. This is the type of place where you check in and never have to leave the property—they have everything!

If you’re a foodie you will love the three onsite restaurants that prepare fresh, local, organic meals. The world class spa will alleviate any remaining wedding stress.

And—I save the best part for last—the pools. The infinity pool at the Carneros Inn is the best pool in wine country, hands down.

As for your accommodations, I recommend reserving the The Harvest Cottage.  It is so luxurious you may never venture out of your room.  My favorite amenity of the cottage, besides the king size bed, is the outdoor patio and garden with your own private alfresco shower, soaking tub and fireplace

After a long day of lounging at their AMAZING infinity pool you can order in room service, light a fire, curl up with your honey, poor a glass of wine and enjoy a romantic evening under the stars.
