Whether a wedding is big or small, it’s a lot of work to pull together and it can be exhausting for any couple that has to make countless wedding-related decisions, hug each and every guest in attendance, and smile for yet one more photo. Will it all be worth it? You betchya! Will you then look forward to a romantic getaway together? Without question!
If you’re like me, you may not want to lift a finger on your honeymoon, except to order room service. The Monarch Beach Resort will help honeymooners accomplish just that. It’s the perfect destination for a honeymoon away from it all. My dream honeymoon would start in sunny So Cal. We’d pull up to valet parking and let someone else escort our bags to our luxury suite. We’d then take our time making our way to our room, where we could plop onto a comfy bed in our plush white robes or take in the gorgeous golf course from our private balcony.
We may decide to open that bottle of champagne that was delivered to our suite along with fresh cut flowers; both included in the Romance Package. Or we may be ready to head to the pool, relax in our private cabana, and enjoy a Monarch martini.
We’d be sure to head to Stonehill Tavern for a dinner that meets Monarch’s standards. I’d drop the bride-to-be boot camp cuisine and order everything from fondue to foie gras and filet mignon. Their sommelier would be by my side to help select the perfect pairing from their expansive wine list. We could stick around for social time or a walk around the manicured grounds, but with my (savor the word) husband‘s tee time tomorrow, we’ll probably head back to our suite, which has been turned down by the impeccable employees at the Monarch. We’ll enjoy our private jaccuzi tub and this serene time for two.
A late wake up call and breakfast for two (also part of the romance package) is all we’ll need. Then it’s off to shop (for me) and tee time (for my golfing guy). The tough question is, South Coast Plaza or Fashion Island? Both are close. After grabbing a few fab finds at the shops, I’ll be ready to meet my man at St. Regis’ Spa Gaucin. They’re open late so we can take our time and truly enjoy one of the many treatments meant for couples in need of a little R & R. I’d probably go for the Love Treatment, which includes a 90 minute Mediterranean massage for two followed by a 20 minute Chardonnay bubble bath.
Then and only then, when we’re both feeling oh-so-pampered, will we head to the Monarch Bay Club for beachfront dining. Or maybe we’ll go to Motif, another exquisite dining experience at the Monarch Beach Resort. Motif is known among the So Cal locals for it’s Sunday brunch so we may save that one for tomorrow. Whatever we decide, it will all add up to a dream honeymoon for two, thanks to the Monarch Beach Resort.
