Why We Like Them

Carine’s Bridal Atelier is a star of the D.C. bridal scene, thanks to the salon’s noteworthy sophistication and high-class customer service. With a background in the New York fashion industry that included stints with Vera Wang and Priscilla of Boston, owner Carine brings a wealth of knowledge, style savvy and enthusiasm to her Georgetown bridal boutique. She has connections with some of the industry’s top designers, and Carine keeps up with the latest bridal trends and hand-selects each wedding dress personally. 

The salon itself is beautiful and welcoming, and brides are lavished with attention from their very first appointment. Consultants offer guidance in selecting the most flattering gown for a bride’s body type and personality, and also take into consideration the wedding setting. Another plus: The staff is adept at creating an atmosphere of calm, essential for a positive dress shopping experience.

At any one time, as many as 100 designer bridal gowns are on hand, as well as a bevy of veils, headpieces and tantalizing fashion accessories—just the thing to lend a dress that certain je ne sais quoi. From elegant haute couture to moderately priced wedding dresses, the lush finery has something to fulfill every bride’s wedding fantasy. Among Carine’s most popular bridal designers are Monique Lhuillier (including the more wallet-friendly Bliss line); glamorous Marchesa wedding dresses; celebrity favorite Carolina Herrera; and the contemporary innovation of Junko Yoshioka.

Carine’s also boasts a talented seamstress, known for expert alterations and ability to do complex modifications, even under time constraints. Overall, the brides we spoke with appreciated the sincerity and expertise of the staff as much as the wide selection of dresses. “No matter what, they put me first,” says one happy Mrs., “which is exactly how a customer should be treated.”
