Justin and Sarah Lovell are a seriously fun married couple that got into the wedding cinematography business after regretting not having their own wedding on film. They have dedicated themselves to producing handcrafted wedding films that are far from “cookie cutter.” Capturing the unique story of each couple they work with, their films are both stylish and creative, yet emotional and touching. But don’t take it from us! The Lovells attest, “Nothing can illustrate our passion for our craft better than the films we produce.”
Highlight films are hosted online for sharing with family and friends about 6-8 weeks post-wedding. This highlight film, your documentary edit, and any additional films will be mailed to you within 3-4 months of your wedding day.
Contact Justin and Sarah for more details on their customized packages and pricing.
Questions and Answers
What are the common misconceptions about your services?
We find the biggest misconception about cinematography is whether it's essential to have on someone's wedding day. The main reason we started our business is because of our own personal experience of not having someone capture our day on film, and it has always been our biggest regret. Our couples constantly tell us that having us document their day was one of the single best investments they made for their wedding, because it allows them to relive all of the memories in a way that photography cannot achieve. While photography is equally as important, there is something so special about being able to both see and hear all of those special moments on film.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
The best piece of advice we could offer our couples is to find vendors you truly connect with, and then trust them! Not only should your day be perfect, the planning leading up to it should be just as special (and hopefully as stress-free as possible). Listen to the advice your vendors offer, because they are speaking from experience. The smallest of elements can make the biggest impact on your day, so if you hire vendors you truly connect with, you can trust that they have your best interest at heart leading up to, on, and after your wedding day!
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
While we are obsessed with French bulldogs, we are waiting until we start a family to add a Frenchie as well! For now, we have an overweight cat named Gibson who we rescued from a shelter three years ago. The highlights of his day include spooning and drinking water from any cup he can get his paws on, literally. He was named after the guitar brand, as Justin has been playing since he was a teenager. Although Justin gave him his name, he is a total mommy's boy and loyally sleeps by her side on her desk when she's working in her office.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
You'd think that things like an amazing reception venue or fabulous details would make a wedding memorable for us, but they don't. It is and always will be the couple. It's those couples that radiate love that continue to inspire us creatively. Simply put, we love documenting love. And it doesn't hurt that it makes our job so easy!
Why should someone hire you?
To us, it's about quality over quantity. For this reason, we only take a select number of weddings each year. Our goal is to get to know our couples as much as possible so that we can create a beautiful story that not only reflects their day, but reflects the story of them as a couple. It's about creating a piece that not only our couples can connect with, but also creating something that anyone can connect with and truly feel something from. When someone tells us they've been moved to tears watching one of our films of a couple they don't know, we know we've done something right. We love being able to share our couple's stories with the world!
