Entering the airy lobby of what has long been a premier hotel in the area for business and pleasure travelers, you’re welcomed by a soothing ambiance. Luxuriant floral accents and white tea aromatic accents simultaneously arouse the senses and quiet the nerves. The minimalist style and palette of warm grays, translucent greens and soft purples inspire a feeling of unhurried peace. Abundant natural light and a view of flowing water beyond further draw you into the space.
Before the festivities begin, you and your bridal party might pose for wedding album pictures at the beautiful Waterfall Terrace, or head next door to the Orange County Performing Arts Center or Noguchi Garden where more photo opportunities abound.
You may also want to exchange vows on the Waterfall Terrace, beneath a scalloped shade canopy in a California-tropical setting lush with ferns, climbing vines and blooming impatiens. Against a cascading stream, you and your groom will kiss for the first time as husband and wife.
The adjacent Lido Ballroom provides the stage for a casually chic reception. This light-filled venue opens onto its own terrace, encouraging an easy indoor-outdoor flow throughout your event and giving celebrants lots of room to mingle.
If your guest list is long, tie the knot under the Terrace Gazebo. Presiding over the 4,000-square-foot Terrace Pavilion, it’s a grand, curtained structure whose sheer drapes can be customized to suit your color scheme. As a string quartet plays in concert with the sound of the tumbling waterfall below, guests can relax on comfy couches before taking their seats for your outdoor ceremony. Afterwards, they’ll enjoy appetizers and champagne under the stars, enclosed by long planters filled with stately palms and birds of paradise.
Formal receptions are held in the Plaza Ballroom, illuminated by seven crystal chandeliers. With its neutral décor, it’s easily tailored to any bride’s design wishes, and its smaller-than-typical size makes it more intimate than most grand ballrooms.
After you’ve thrown the bouquet and danced your last dance, retire to your luxurious bridal suite, where you’ll sleep ever-so-soundly on Westin’s patented Heavenly Bed®. When you wake up the next day, you can look forward to plenty of wonderful options: Walk arm-in-arm across the pedestrian bridge leading to South Coast Plaza and its world-class shops and restaurants.
