Why We Like This Place

Welcome to Tropical Paradise, an oasis set on a private ranch in the tranquil countryside of Santa Rosa Valley. This special event venue was designed specifically for wedding celebrations, and is laid out to complement the natural flow of your big day.

It starts when guests drive through the gated entrance into the spacious (free!) parking lot, lined with palm trees, bamboo and agapanthus. The scenery becomes even more lush as they walk beneath a canopy of palm fronds and through a bamboo arch, and are greeted by a rock waterfall splashing into two ponds. The enchanting water feature is adorned with gladioli, birds of paradise, roses and candy-hued impatiens, a striking floral motif that’s abundantly used throughout the grounds. The sound of flowing water, the soft music playing from the discreet sound system, and the melody of songbirds weave a harmonious, uplifting spell.

In front of the waterfall, three adjoining event areas are set off by white organza panels attached to tree trunks and billowing in the warm breeze. Straight ahead lies the Ceremony Lawn, lined with—what else?—palm trees, encircled with seasonal blooms. Down the center of the grass, a bridal aisle is dressed with a white runner and strewn with flower petals. Wedding vows are exchanged atop a broad demilune stage flanked by twin palms, in front of a carpet of white iceberg roses. A breathtaking mountain silhouette in the background is close enough to touch.

After the ceremony, you and your wedding party pose for photos, while guests gather in the adjacent Outdoor Lounge for drinks and appetizers. Picturesque and festive, this area makes use of the signature palms in a novel way: Cocktail tables are actually built around the tree trunks, with the fronds serving as natural umbrellas!

As sunset paints the horizon, guests stroll to the Reception Garden on the other side of the Ceremony Lawn. This is the time when the scene is transformed into a magical fairyland, with landscape lighting, spotlights on the waterfall, market lights strung across the lawns, and twinkle lights wrapped around palm trunks. There’s a huge built-in dance floor, and a white wooden stage that’s perfect for showcasing the cake cutting. Overhead, moonlight and a brilliant starscape illuminate the evening sky, creating the ultimate romantic ambiance.

Thoughtful touches abound here, like the elegantly outfitted Bride’s Room, hidden away in one corner of the property, where you and your entourage can prepare in style. Considerable thought goes into the service and catering, too. Your site manager will be with you every step of the way, as will DJs California Catering. Not only are they superb with food, but they’re also experienced event producers. Want to tent the reception area? Not a problem. Specialty menu items? As you wish. So accomplished is DJs that they’ve been the Ventura County Star “Reader’s Choice Winner for Best Caterer” in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Fees & Deposits

A $1,000 deposit is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 30 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $2,500–3,500 depending on the day of the event. There is a $500 refundable security deposit. Meals range $57–81/person. Tax, alcohol and a 15% service charge are additional.
