Why We Like This Place
Café Santorini, an enchanting restaurant overlooking Old Pasadena’s One Colorado Plaza, takes its name from a small Greek island. Though there are no rocky shores at this upscale bistro, the name is nonetheless appropriate—at least in the spiritual sense. Who hasn’t dreamt of escaping with a few choice companions to a secluded Grecian isle for the uninhibited sharing of fine food, drink and song? Have your celebration here, and you’ll experience a similar joie de vivre—without getting sand in the spanakopita.
The restaurant and its adjoining private banquet facility, the Rococo Room, are both housed in a historic brick building and each has its own private entrance. When you consider the romantic receptions that are held in the Rococo Room, it’s hard to believe this stylish space was once a carpentry shop during the 1920s. And yet, if you look around, you’ll notice how original elements have been cleverly incorporated into the current design: The weathered brick wall adjacent to the bar adds texture and character, while the high cathedral ceiling and skylights provide space and light. Gold, sage and burgundy hues enliven the sponge-painted walls, which are complemented by plush draperies and gilded Chiavari chairs. Beaded chandeliers and Baroque-framed mirrors lend classically elegant touches.
The Mezzanine, a quaint, skylit loft overlooking the Rococo Room, is the perfect spot for mingling during the cocktail hour. It’s also a great space on its own for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and intimate receptions.
Whether you choose your party menu from the venue’s contemporary Mediterranean offerings, or create a custom menu all your own, you can entrust your culinary desires to Cafe Santorini’s accomplished chefs. After savoring the delicious food in the sensual atmosphere, you and your guests will indeed feel as if you’d experienced an exhilarating getaway.
Cafe Santorini’s newest venue, Pandora on Green, is now hosting weddings and special events for up to 400 guests in the heart of historic Old Pasadena. It features an eclectic-chic ambiance, cutting-edge cuisine, and a team of professionals to help you with all the details of your event. For more information go to www.cafesantorini.com
