Why We Like This Place

If you’ve been to the heart of downtown L.A. lately, you know that its revitalization is still going strong. An explosion of new entertainment, sports and cultural venues has successfully turned the area into a world-class metropolis and first-rate destination. So it’s exciting to learn that the popular LA Downtown Hotel, located on the dynamic Figueroa Corridor, has decided to do some revitalizing of its own.

Its new look, set to debut in the second quarter of 2012, is evident as soon as you step into the sleek, contemporary lobby. You’re surrounded by a sophisticated space that features marble floors, woven wood walls and a towering, luminous glass angel sculpture that captures your attention. To your left is the lobby lounge, which showcases more original elements, like a 30-foot-high wall transformed into a shimmering waterfall embedded with twinkling blue lights and a series of striking free-form Lucite chandeliers. As you explore the hotel, you’ll discover that all of the interiors reflect an elegant, yet hip, sensibility and that the lighting fixtures throughout are true works of art.

Glass doors lead from the lounge to a delightfully lush, urban garden, a perfect spot for a wedding ceremony. Your guests, seated beside the pool, watch you walk down the aisle towards the altar, set against tiers of greenery and feathery palms. Just to the left are some of downtown’s most recognizable skyscrapers, which enhance the city oasis vibe.

Serve cocktails poolside, or invite everyone inside to the mezzanine-level foyer, a fabulous circular prefunction area for both the Junior and Grand Ballrooms. Filled with light from a huge central skylight soaring 30 feet overhead, it overlooks the lobby and has unobstructed views of the garden and cityscape through floor-to-ceiling windows.

This trio of spaces, which can be reserved individually or in combination, offers a lot of flexibility for choreographing your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Both ballrooms have been remodeled to integrate seamlessly, and they feature the same lovely décor and signature chandeliers. The overall effect is a romantic, luxurious setting.

The LA Downtown Hotel provides everything you need to make your wedding a success. Their dedicated staff deliver the highest level of service, whether it’s one of their certified wedding coordinators helping you plan your event or the concierge arranging activities for your out-of-town guests.

Fees & Deposits

25% of the total event cost is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 10 business days prior to the event. Rental fees range $800–1,200 depending on the time of the event and the space rented. Meals range $66–80person. Tax and a 22% service charge are additional.
