Why We Like This Place

A curving boulevard whisks you swiftly up from the valley floor to this popular golf course. Its many jacaranda trees will be ablaze with lilac-colored blooms when you arrive, and on a clear day the San Gabriel Mountains will pop up bold and high—one of several pleasing sights to take in here.

As is the case with all savvy golfing venues, Mountain Meadows has set its banquet room and ceremony site apart from the workaday bustle of the rest of the course. The banquet room lies at the far end of the clubhouse, and because it has a separate entrance, there are never any uninvited guests inadvertently passing through. Many elements combine to make this room inviting. A wall of tall windows lets in a crystalline northern light, and looks out past the adjacent patio to the always-fascinating action of the driving range and first hole. The other walls are painted the softest possible cream, and complement the gray-brown rafters. Large supporting beams, including three massive horizontal ones, add a dramatic element to the space. Strings of miniature lights are draped in tulle that stretches from the ceiling to the walls, and translucent glass sconces grace the walls. When you add track lighting the overall effect is simple and effective: there’s simply no harsh light anywhere to mar the beauty of a bride or the scene.

The banquet room opens to a large patio, whose waist-high walls are lined with boxes of exuberant flowers that form a colorful backdrop to outdoor festivities. Right off the patio a four-sided gazebo is set beside a putting green with grass so smooth it could just as well be the felt covering on a pool table. You can imagine how good white chairs look, arranged in neat rows on this perfect lawn.

The gazebo is only one of several places that make for wonderful photo ops. There’s also the patio and the course’s artificial lake. Or you can ride a golf cart up to an overlook that takes in much of the Mountain Meadows. One special favorite is a small garden close to the banquet room. Bordered by ferns, small shade trees and flowers, it has an appealing burbling three-tier fountain at its center.

Finally, the on-site kitchen here knows what it’s doing. As is typical in the Inland Empire, with its rich array of cultures, customs and ethnic groups, the banquet staff—who handle more than 100 weddings per year—are old hands at seamlessly accommodating brides’ different tastes and needs.

Mountain Meadows achieves something that looks easy only if you have a lot of experience doing it: that is, balancing privacy and elegance with accessibility and affordability.

Fees & Deposits

A nonrefundable deposit, which is applied to your food and beverage total, is required to reserve your date. The amount of the deposit is equal to 25% of the estimated event total. 50% is due 6 months prior, and 100% of the final estimated balance is due 10 days prior to the event date. Wedding packages range $33–70/person. Tax, alcohol, and a 20% service charge are additional.
