Why We Like This Place
Overlooking the nearby isles of Balboa and Lido, as well as Catalina and the shining sea, there’s a standout for brides in the archipelago of swanky Newport Beach. From Island Hotel’s jasmine and lily-scented lobby to its richly appointed lounge areas and lushly landscaped grounds spiked with giant birds of paradise, no detail is overlooked in a Tommy Bahama-inspired setting of relaxed sophistication. The moment your guests arrive at this AAA Five Diamond oasis, they’ll experience the unpretentious elegance of a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
For weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners and post-celebration brunches, the hotel offers an array of options. All soon-to-wed couples enjoy use of his-and-hers changing suites with roomy closets, private sitting rooms and spectacular views of the urban landscape fronting the ocean. Both brides and grooms will appreciate the chance to preen in style, while calming pre-wedding jitters in a space other than their honeymoon suite. For additional renewal, the hotel’s 4,000-square-foot water-themed spa offers a plethora of island-inspired massages, facials and beauty treatments.
Large affairs work well in the Grand Ballroom, whose private prefunction room is perfect for mingling and passing hors d’oeuvres while you and your photographer take photos elsewhere on the hotel’s verdant grounds. Inside the main ballroom, crystal chandeliers contribute to an ambiance of formal elegance. More intimate receptions are held in the airy Cabana Room. Graced with plantation shutters and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a wraparound patio lined with potted palms, vivid impatiens and whimsical stone monkeys, the space brings the tropics to the California coast. Wedding ceremonies take place on the adjacent pool terrace, where tiny lights, luxuriant foliage, canopy-style cabanas and a 17-foot fireplace add warmth and romance to the poolside enclave.
At all venues on the property, guests will experience superior service and culinary excellence overseen by nationally known Executive Chef Bill Bracken. If they’re from out of town, they’ll also enjoy accommodations in spacious, tastefully furnished rooms or suites, most with ocean views, as well as all the services of the on-site fitness center and The Spa at Island Hotel.
Beyond its resort-style premises, Island Hotel offers easy access to everything that defines upscale Orange County—sparkling beaches, championship golf courses, maritime recreation in nearby Newport Harbor and world-class shopping at adjacent Fashion Island. No matter what the occasion, you’ll find yourself in the lap of West Coast luxury at this 20-story tower, whose mission is to make you the center of attention.
