Why We Like This Place

We’ve been in enough big hotels to know that their glamour, architectural grandeur and high style can sometimes be a little overwhelming, impersonal or even intimidating. Happily this is not the case with the award-winning Hilton Long Beach, a lovely first-class hotel with a warm and inviting atmosphere. This is no accident: the staff at the Hilton Long Beach Hilton takes its motto—"Come home to Hilton"—to heart, and they will go out of their way to ensure your wedding or special event is a wildly successful affair.

The Hilton’s friendly ambiance is apparent as soon as you drive under the hotel’s grand porte-cochre and encounter the winning smiles of the valet and concierge. A polished marble staircase (where newlyweds often pose for pictures) leads to the hotel’s lobby, whose congenial feeling and international flavor set the tone for the entire hotel. Here, objets d’art from around the world are showcased.

An escalator from the lobby leads to the second-floor Promenade, a wide carpeted foyer decorated with works of art. Double doors open into the Hilton’s enormous International Ballroom, an ideal venue for weddings and receptions of Cecil B. De Mille proportions. Tastefully carpeted in green and chocolate brown hues, and featuring modern geometric chandeliers, it’s a refined and elegant space. If your reception is on a smaller scale, the Ballroom’s airwalls can be moved to create a more intimate spot, or you can stage your event in the Catalina Ballroom. Painted in a light blush, and with east- and west-facing windows, it lends a pleasing, natural light to any reception.

If your heart is set on an outdoor ceremony, then you’ll appreciate the Garden Lanai, a beautifully landscaped garden terrace adorned with wrought-iron lampposts. Forming an elevated bridge between the World Trade Center and the Hilton, and surrounding the flag-festooned Trade Center Plaza, the Garden Lanai is a refreshingly open site for exchanging vows in front of up to 250 admiring guests.

For those of you who’ve come to Long Beach to mix business with pleasure, you’ll find the new Executive Meeting Center next door to the Hilton more than accommodating. Twelve conference rooms and over 12,000 square feet of dedicated state-of-the-art meeting space include such thoughtful amenities as ergonomically designed chairs and an on-site business concierge. After a hard day’s work, the luxuries at the Hilton will be extra-appreciated. A large health club, a fine-dining restaurant and a beauty salon help guests relax and unwind. The recently renovated guestrooms are another soothing amenity: the forward décor is understated chic, with rich, earthy textures and colors contributing to a stylishly comfortable milieu. Most appreciated will probably be the plush pillowtop mattresses on the Hilton "Suite Dreams" king-size beds, which offer newlyweds and business travelers even more pampering.

Fees & Deposits

25% of the total event cost is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 72 hours days prior to the event. The rental fee ranges $500–10,000 depending on the food and beverage totals. Meals start at $85/person. Tax, alcohol and a 12% service charge are additional.
