Why We Like This Place

This is one of the hottest spots for special events in Santa Barbara, thanks to its beachfront location, informal, artsy atmosphere and reasonable pricing. Owned and operated by the City of Santa Barbara, the Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center is housed in a handsome, Spanish-style building, with white stucco exterior and red tile roof.

Inside, it’s spacious and filled with light that streams in through a five-arch arcade and a wall of oceanview windows beyond. A soaring, A-frame wood ceiling is supported by wood trusses, with rows of track lights and Mediterranean wrought-iron chandeliers that provide mood lighting for evening events. Walls are adorned with gallery exhibits that change regularly. On each side of the room, hardwood staircases lead to oak-bannistered balconies that make perfect bouquet-tossing platforms.  A portable dance floor and tables and chairs are included with your rental.

The prime place for mingling is on the two beachfront decks, where daytime showcases the classic California sand-and-surf scene, and nighttime offers a lovely light show of passing boats and shooting stars. The beach directly outside Cabrillo Pavilion is beautiful, and the friendly, experienced staff can help arrange your wedding ceremony right on the sand.

Fees & Deposits

A $300 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 90 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $2,500–3,500 depending on the length of the event.
