Why We Like This Place
If you think golf clubs are haughty and pretentious, then you haven’t been to Brookside. Nestled in the picturesque arroyo next to Pasadena’s famed Rose Bowl, and surrounded by palm trees and two championship golf courses, this impeccably maintained golf club will enfold you in its warm hospitality. From its humble beginnings in 1920, Brookside has grown into one of Southern California’s most popular golf courses.
When you plan a special event at the recently renovated club, you have several distinctive rooms to choose from. The largest is the Mediterranean Room, which combines a clean, contemporary feel with Spanish details. Recessed antiqued brass chandeliers provide nighttime illumination, while sunshine streams in through the glass walls during the day. One “wall” looks directly out onto a verdant golf course; another faces the patio, with a beautiful gazebo and flowers girding the perimeter. Many couples choose to have their wedding ceremony here and then bring the guests inside for a seated reception.
Adjoining the Mediterranean Room is a new bride’s room, outfitted with a vanity, comfortable couches and floral accents. There’s plenty of space for the bride’s entourage, and while they’re all preparing for the ceremony, Brookside keeps their energy up with champagne and hors d’oeuvres. This room also doubles as a lounge for guests who want a bit of private relaxation during the festivities.
Golf-green is the favored color in The Rose Bowl Restaurant, another party option. A stone fireplace is the centerpiece in this homey space, and sportsmen’s paraphernalia decorate the walls.
The Madrid Room is perfect for a business meeting or luncheon, but any of the spaces can be outfitted with a full range of audiovisual equipment. An adjacent terrace works well as a breakout area, or set up with a buffet.
Brookside’s two newest spaces are ideal for smaller events, and are both decorated in soft sage green with historic photos of old Pasadena adorning the walls. The Arroyo Room is convenient for intimate parties, business meetings and rehearsal dinners, while the Rose Room is used for small meetings and as a breakout room for larger functions.
Whether you want a casual celebration right on the golf course or a five-course gourmet banquet, you can bet that the Brookside family will treat you like one of their own.
