Why We Like This Place
“The Place with Panoramic Views of the Saddleback Valley and a Gorgeous Golf Course” might be a more apt name for the Aliso Viejo Conference Center, peacefully perched above the valley and adjacent to the Aliso Viejo Country Club. Although its serene setting makes you feel like you’re far from the city, the Center is easily accessible from the freeway and other main thoroughfares.
New to South Orange County, the Conference Center is as appealing for weddings as it is for corporate events. With the neighboring golf course as a backdrop, the outdoor ceremony stage is set. The Center’s Mediterranean-style buildings and the perfectly tended fairways provide a neutral landscape that complements any color scheme and style of wedding, from casual to opulent.
Bookended by the Country Club and the Conference Center, the ceremony lawn can be set up two ways: In the first, guests face the center’s grand pillars, which serve as a readymade “arch,” formally framing the couple as they exchange vows. In the second, the setup is reversed and everyone faces the fairways. While the latter option doesn’t include a built-in arch, you may add one or let the natural beauty of the Saddleback Valley be your only decoration.
After the photographer has captured the couple’s post-ceremony smiles and husband-and-wife kisses, the celebration kicks off with the cocktail hour on the spacious patio. From here, the view could not be more picturesque: As guests toast the newlyweds, they gaze past manicured greens out into the valley.
The patio connects to the ballroom, allowing a smooth transition to the reception. Natural light flowing in through multiple glass doors and windows gives the room its open, airy feeling. The vaulted, wood-beamed ceiling and buttery yellow walls lend considerable warmth to the space. There’s plenty of room for dancing indoors, but on a balmy evening guests are more likely to head for the patio, where they can enjoy the starry night sky.
At the Conference Center, they’ve paid as much attention to the cuisine as they have to the facilities. Their culinary creations are one of the Center’s main attractions and bear no comparison to “wedding food.” Upscale yet relatable, tasty but not standoffish, the menu options of all three of their packages include choices for the easiest-to-please and the pickiest palettes.
Since this venue only began hosting weddings at the end of 2009, there’s a good chance that you and your family and friends have never attended an event here before. We’d like to suggest that once you’ve taken care of getting something borrowed and something blue, let the recently opened Aliso Viejo Conference Center be your something new.
