Services

Couture Motion does exactly what their company name suggests—they handcraft stylish wedding films suited to the specific idiosyncrasies of each couple they work with. They’re a husband and wife team with an extensive background both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Ian holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University and Megan’s an accomplished actress, dancer and photographer. They draw upon this background to create wedding films that not only capture the events of the day, but also the raw emotions and experiences of the bride and groom.

They accomplish this through the use of film-style cameras and lenses, professional editing, color correction and audio mixing like you’d find in a Hollywood movie. What makes their films different is their honest way of portraying the couple’s story—with not only breathtaking style, but also real substance. They are intent on fostering a fun, comfortable atmosphere during the wedding so their couples can relax, be themselves and be in the moment.

Collections start at $3000.

What 3 words describe your work? Heartfelt. Truthful. Stirring.

Tell us about your company name. We chose the name Couture Motion because all of our films are specifically tailored to each of our clients, much like a couture garment. No two films are alike.

Why should someone hire you? Our films tell the complete story of your wedding day—from the opening nerves to the closing sighs. It's so rare that one day can produce so many emotions, one after another. A film allows you to jump into a time machine and experience the emotional journey on your day for years to come.

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work? We are genuinely inspired by life and the common experiences that we all share. To be witnesses to one of the defining days in each individual's life is humbling and fascinating. Capturing these moments consistently inspires us.

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding. Three words...Pirate Flower Girls. Check out our blog to see what we mean.

What makes a wedding memorable for you? For us, a wedding is memorable if the couple truly experiences their day and when the event is a direct reflection of their love and bond. That's when we are able to do our best work.

If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be? Be invisible so we could capture ALL of the moments!

What are 3 words that describe your personality? Really, really awesome.

What's your favorite marriage advice? As given to me by my grandpa on his 60th anniversary, "Pick the right one from the start."

What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day? A nice glass of red wine, watching DVR, and hanging with our dog Cooper!

Tell us about your pets, if you have any. We have our pseudo-child Cooper, who we rescued him from a shelter in Brooklyn. In a roundabout way, he was the catalyst for us starting this business. He is a boisterous, funny guy who loves to sleep under the covers with us. We love him.
