B&G Photography practices the 90/10 rule when it comes to wedding photography. Jen says, “We are there to tell the story of your day and do that 90% of the time by being discrete, not attracting attention to ourselves, letting you and your guests feel comfortable and not made to feel like you’re being photographed, so we can get you at your most natural. We have been called ninjas’ and our best compliment has been ‘How did you get all those images? We barely noticed you were there!!’ The other 10% of our time is working with our couples and their families to get some stellar portraits.”
B&G Photography welcomes destination weddings worldwide and is adept at photographing South Asian weddings.
Jen Berggren started B&G Photography to explore a non-formulaic approach to wedding photography. “When I’m documenting a wedding, I don’t go in with a preconceived notion of what I’m going to shoot,” she says. “I draw my inspiration from the venue, the décor, and especially the couple—I want to capture what’s unique about them and the day they’ve created.”
A graduate of Santa Monica College’s photography department, Jen’s able to harness her innate artistic sensibility and her professional training to deliver candid, humorous, and soulful shots. There’s no such thing as a typical wedding image. She’s developed a more open-ended and fluid way of working that allows events to unfold naturally. Invariably, this method yields images that reflect the essence of each person, the atmosphere of the setting, and the immediacy of what she sees through her lens. And from the sweet, wordless looks couples give each other to the tender inscription inside a wedding band, there’s not much Jen doesn’t see.
She traffics in laughs, smiles, sideways glances, and the festive nature of every ceremony and reception; stiff or extremely posed pictures are nowhere to be found. “I prefer to be a fly on the wall, recording moments as they happen instead of creating them,” says Jen.
Her fun-loving personality also offers a counterpoint to the intensity of the special day. “She just has a way with people,” says a bride. “She’s great at working with everyone.” Jen feels that the couple should be the center of attention, adding, “My ego always takes a back seat—this day is about them, not about me.”
Whatever she’s doing, it’s turning her clients into a legion of fans. “Jen’s simply a blast to be around,” attests one very happy bride. “I felt like she became our friend.”

“We highly recommend B&G!! We were very happy with their work and the way they made us always feel comfortable while taking our pictures. They have a great artistic eye but at the same time built great rapport with us. Their company is one of integrity, great work ethic and FUN!!”
“Their photos are just wonderful—they have a charm to them.”
“The day of the event was great, before-during-and-after, we had a blast. We have many great shots due to Nate and Jen’s spontaneity and ability to see our wedding party wanted to have some fun. They really captured our personalities and we have some very memorable photos!”
“I think their company does and will always stand out because their love for photography is amazing and you cannot find better individuals to work with who are so passionate about their work and so passionate about the needs of their clients.”
“OMG, we could not be more happy with them. They were amazing and great at herding relatives for photos.”
“They helped me navigate the muddy waters of price, contracts, re-prints, albums etc, and I realized that anyone who is that helpful needs to be my photographer! I think they are brilliant. It felt really great to have Jen with me all day…she’s a seasoned veteran so she helped keep me calm. Every single person who sees my photos comments on how amazing they are.”
“Everything went so smoothly, they took shots of everything that I wanted and you barely noticed they were there. They stand out because they really listen to what you want, and they do their homework.”(What does this mean?)
