Services Offered

A Sweet Design is a custom cake studio that operates exclusively by appointment. Schedule a complimentary cake tasting to sample the many marvelous flavor combinations—and bring your color samples, magazine clippings, sketches or just your rough ideas.

Cakes are baked from scratch in small batches to ensure the best quality. Fillings range from a whimsical Oreo & Cream to refreshing Mango Mousse or Guava Jam, and a lovely Dulce de Leche cream, to name a few. Other options include marzipan finish and cupcakes. A Sweet Design even bakes wheat free/gluten free wedding cakes.

In addition to wedding cakes, A Sweet Design also turns out inspired Groom’s cakes, cakes for Quinceañeras and other events.

About This Company

A Sweet Design’s owner Joeleen Medina is a classically trained pastry chef who received her degree from the California School of Culinary Arts, Le Cordon Bleu program. More importantly, as another event professional said, “I believe she adds love to each of her cakes; so much of herself is put into them. She truly has a passion for this and it shows. Plus her bubbly personality is one of her greatest assets.”

A Sweet Design Covers These Areas:

Southern California
  - San Fernando Valley
  - And other areas by special arrangement.

Bride Reviews

“I have never experienced such exceptional customer service. Everything she promised she delivered. And the guests loved the cake so much that there wasn’t any left. Our guests ate two and three pieces, they loved it so much.”

“I LOVED our cake. It was absolutely beautiful. Everybody told us how gorgeous it was.”

“It was beautiful and beyond all our expectations. One of our guests said the only thing wrong about the cake was that it was so good he didn’t want to stop at one piece—he wanted to be a piggy and eat all the cake in sight!”

“Everybody mentioned how delicious the cake was and we had to hide some cake to have any to take home! You can tell it is more than business—it is her personal passion to provide the best to her customers—she said that she would never make a cake that she wouldn’t serve at her own wedding.”
