About This Company

You’re going to thoroughly enjoy being center stage at your Big Event if you enlist the services of Benjamin James and his company, The Wallflower Project, to photograph the occasion. Ben has been behind the camera since he was a boy—his first models were his siblings. Later, after earning his degree in commercial photography, he worked as a photographer doing fashion, advertising, marketing and editorial work. And while his images would be right at home on the pages of glossy, high-end magazines, there’s a special place in his heart for capturing personal moments and milestones. “I enjoy the commercial photography world,” says Benjamin, “but I love photographing real life as it’s happening.”

As his clients discover, Benjamin and his team do this expertly. Managing the technical and artistic elements of his craft—composition, lighting, color, and content—is second nature to this consummate professional. But, what makes his photographs truly amazing is the drama, emotion and honesty that he’s able to convey. “Our wedding was a huge success largely because of Ben,” recollects a groom. “He’s a fun, outgoing guy who took charge and made everybody laugh and smile. Everyone genuinely enjoyed having their picture taken and it showed.” “Benjamin made a camera-shy group VERY comfortable,” says another satisfied wedding client. “He produced some of the best photos ever taken of us, our friends and our family.”

Turning even the ordinary into extraordinary images seems effortless for Benjamin. He has an eye for angles, for framing, for bringing out the star quality in his subjects. Brides have confessed to him that they never thought they could look so lovely. “Beautiful people, beautiful moments are right in front of us every day,” declares Ben. “I just want to catch them.” He certainly does that, but he also does something more. Just take a look at his portfolio: His work has sparkle, personality, and a natural effervescence that is positively contagious. The people in Benjamin’s pictures are clearly having a very good time. And, if you ask Benjamin, he is too.

“There is nothing Ben isn’t willing to do to make the photo shoot a memorable one,” remembers a happy bride. “Working with Ben is a wonderful experience.” Another agrees. “We couldn’t be happier that we went with The Wallflower Project. Benjamin was professional, FUN, and, most of all, a great photographer.” Even ultra-busy industry colleagues find his manner relaxing, insisting that working with The Wallflower Project always helps relieve stress. It’s no wonder Benjamin’s clients don’t want to give him up after the wedding is over. As their lives together unfold over time, Benjamin is right there with them for baby pix, family portraits, and often just as a friend.

“This is not only a business transaction for us,” explains Ben. “It’s about families and friends. It’s a good time,” he adds. “It’s a party!”
