Background
Co-owner Peter Eastlake has studied winemaking, managed wine stores in New York and Boston, has been a wine buyer for more than a decade, including time as a national wine buyer for Cost Plus World Market.

If you are looking for unique wines by the bottle or case for your wedding, swing by Vintage Berkeley in the heart of the gourmet ghetto near Chez Panisse and the Cheeseboard. You’ll find Vintage Berkeley as unpretentious as its location in an old pump house; it is the kind of wine store with a down-to-earth staff and an appealing array of carefully chosen, small production wines, the majority of which are under $25. Have a private tasting to discover wine to coordinate with your menu or just visit for a public tasting—Vintage Berkeley holds them every weeknight from 4 to 7pm and on Saturdays from 2 to 4pm. (Store hours are Monday–Saturday 11am–8pm, Sunday 12–6pm.)

Not surprisingly, SF Magazine named them one of the top five wine stores in the Bay Area in 2006.
