About This Company
Carol Attia creates customized chuppahs for rental or purchase. She has a wide selection in varying styles and fabrics and her designs range from traditional to romantic to modern. Brides have described her chuppahs as “magical.” Her complete wedding package includes delivery, set-up and dismantling. Color coordinated bridal accessories and room decor also available.
Background
With a background in theatre, Carol has an understanding of dramatic elegance, which she translates into her chuppah designs. An expert seamstress, she can’t remember a time when she didn’t work with fabric. Starting with doll clothes, she increased her scale from clothing to costumes to canopies. Her chuppahs have been purchased by congregations throughout the country. Her rentals are not limited to Northern California. Her chuppahs have travelled throughout the United States, as well as to Europe.
Services
Under the Chuppah offers a full service wedding package that
includes chuppah delivery, set-up and dismantling. A wide selection of styles and fabrics are available to choose from. Designs range from traditional, with Judaic symbols and Hebraic phrases, to elegant, unadorned fabrics with sweeping valances and unusual drapings.
Although based in Jewish tradition, Carol’s chuppahs have become popular with non-Jewish couples, as well. Canopies have been placed over head tables, to highlight the wedding party, or over sweetheart tables, to create a romantic ambiance. They also look beautiful over cake tables, setting off a glorious wedding cake.
True to her theatrical training, Carol sometimes uses lights around the chuppah to create beautiful dramatic and romantic effects. Occasionally the lights brighten an otherwise dimly lit site. Sometimes she incorporates four small spots into the chuppah, focusing light on the bride and groom. At other times, the lights are entwined in the twists and folds of fabric, producing a glow that reflects the couple’s love.
A variety of bridal accessories are available to enhance and
complete the room decor: a small table (that goes under the chuppah) with a tablecloth that perfectly matches the chuppah in fabric and style; a personalized break the glass bag (with a stemmed wine glass inside), a ring pillow, a challah cover, and aisle and table decorations.
