Soulflower’s owner and lead designer, Emily Dreblow’s love of flowers (and life) is evident in the thoughtfully detailed works of floral art she creates for weddings and events. While exploring the world’s international culture of flowers throughout Europe, Thailand, Central and South America, Emily found her unique sensibilities to include textured, organic materials as well as found objects and reclaimed or recycled elements. Inspired by art mediums such as sculpture, expressive arts and mixed-media, Emily approaches each project with imagination, innovation and a critical eye. Soulflower’s goal is to translate each individual client’s style and aesthetic into contemporary, artful floral designs.
Soulflower is committed to being a green business. Emily works with local vendors using local and organic components, strives to eliminate the amount of floral foam and chemicals she uses, and finds other waste reduction measures. Emily is very conscious about social responsibility: Soulflower regularly donates leftover flowers to places such as women’s shelters and schools and employs young people from communities in desperate need of quality jobs. Prior to founding Soulflower, Emily worked in various community organizations providing social services and arts education to San Francisco young people and their families.
