Background
Ever since taking her first darkroom course in the sixth grade, photography has been Julie Mikos’ passion. She focused on photography while earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She went on to work as an associate photographer for a well-known editorial photographer. She has also photographed home interiors and gardens for national interior design publications, shot travel photography and worked for seven years in advertising. All of this experience, combined with her clearly evident love of storytelling, adds up to wedding photography with a particularly appealing slant. Somehow she just makes weddings look divine.
Julie’s work has been published in magazines such as: Martha Stewart Weddings, Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style, The Knot, LA Wedding, Angeleno, Inside Weddings, San Francisco Chronicle Sunday Magazine, House Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens, HOME magazine, Country Gardens, Country Living, Woman’s Day and others. Her travel photographs have also appeared two consecutive years in the National Geographic Traveler calendar.
