What 3 words describe your work? Contemporary, classic, novel.

Why should someone hire you? Absolutely every event is built from scratch, and no two are alike. I strive to get my finger on the pulse of every wedding.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started? My very first job was at a little corner flower stand just a couple of blocks from the ocean. It was me and an apron and a pair of clippers, out in the sunshine with buckets of stunning cut flowers. How could I help but fall in love with flowers? I still rock that threadbare apron!

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: I have to admit that I cry during the vows. Even after all these years in the wedding industry. I cry at every wedding. Every time.

Tell us about a wedding you worked on that really makes you proud: I am especially proud to have been a part of some same-sex weddings; they have been some of the most moving and meaningful ceremonies I have witnessed.

What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding? Try not to get overwhelmed. The moment you say “I do”, all the planning and stressing and chaos come together. And then you get to enjoy the best party of your lives!

What are 3 words that describe your personality? Passionate, generous, quirky.

What’s your favorite marriage advice? Dance in the kitchen every so often.

Extracurricular Activities: I love to have my hands in the dirt—I’m a gardener at heart. I am crazy for dahlias—they really walk the line between wild and formal in a garden. My dream is to grow many of my own flowers for my work; I can definitely see myself running a little farm. I picture a picnic table by a duck farm, and rows and rows of flowers.

If you weren’t in your current profession, what would you do instead? I earned an MFA in writing, and always have bits and pieces of novels and stories in the works.
