Why should someone hire you? Everything that we do here at GWP is completely customized to our clients, from the packages to the photography on the wedding day. A wedding photographed by Geoff White Photographers includes more than just our award-winning photography—you will have our full-time staff supporting you in the planning and album design process. Our Studio Manager Nikki guides clients through the entire process, from the time they book to when they receive their custom, one-of-a-kind album. Elena, our Production Manager, spends hours on clients' images and album design, ensuring that they are as beautiful as any bride and groom could want.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: Geoff and Lara were photographing at a reception and it was time for the parent dances. After the father-daughter dance, the groom danced with his mother to a song that had been pre-recorded by the groom's deceased father. It was "You are My Sunshine" and I can assure you, there was not a dry eye in the house!
How soon will clients get to see their images? Clients can look forward to seeing their images for the first time in a "sneak peek" on our blog, where we will feature their wedding images and story about four weeks after the wedding. Shortly thereafter we will provide them with a link to their album slideshow, with the custom storyline album design that we have created for them, followed by the Online Gallery where we host our clients' images in a password protected gallery. We also mail the digital negatives to the client, in both high and low resolution. The final step is their album revisions—clients may work with us on album design in the studio or they can work online.
Why does it take four weeks? We take the utmost pride in our work, and we want it to be perfect! Before we move into the album design, we individually color correct every image. We do not use pre-made album layouts—each design is completely from scratch—in order to truly highlight the individual stories of our clients and make the images truly shine.
Why do an Engagement Session? Because they're fun! Seriously though, engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera, get to know your photographer, and have great, casual portraits of the two of you. Nikki loves to help clients find the perfect location for their session, so that it truly reflects their relationship and personalities.
Why do you say, "It takes a team"? Here at Geoff White Photographers we pride ourselves on our unsurpassed customer service, quality images and gorgeous products. We realized early on in our business that there is no way one person can do all of these things perfectly!
Have you photographed any celebrities? We have been lucky enough to be involved in several celebrity weddings, in addition to other high profile events around the world. We feel that every bride should be treated like a celebrity as well!
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning the wedding? We definitely recommend that, if possible, the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony, giving them a chance to have a "private meeting" and some portraits before the guests arrive. This allows them to enjoy visiting with their friends and family at the cocktail hour, instead of disappearing to do their portraits.
What do you like to do for fun? Geoff LOVES golf and fast cars, while Kelvin likes cars and is a serious watch collector. Elena is an incredible jewelry designer and Nikki is always traveling somewhere! Lara loves tea and reading more than anything. Mainly, we feel that it is important to maintain a good work/life balance and provide ourselves with the opportunity to stay fresh and creative.
Geoff White is one of those rare folks whose artistic side is as well developed as his technically savvy side. Geoff, whose passion for photography dates back to childhood, was an early adopter of digital photography. His ability to work quietly and quickly to capture the moments as they unfold throughout the day is simply amazing.
