It’s said they’re so popular, wedding vendors actually fight for a chance to work with them. No wonder Adina Gallade and the talented team at Fleur de Lis Events are at the top of the list for party and event planners. Weddings, charity events, corporate sponsored affairs, fundraisers, tony private parties—whether they’re orchestrating an intimate dinner at a fine French restaurant followed by dancing a mere boat-ride away, in full view of the shimmering bay, or a three-day extravaganza for an international cast of over a thousand—this terrific organization always manages to amaze and enthrall.
Adina, who began her career in the restaurant and catering business at the age of sixteen, found her true calling when she was asked to launch food and beverage outlets for a large corporation. “It was all very exciting,” she remembers. They had a high-end client base, big trade accounts and a network of industry movers and shakers. She managed a staff of 30, most of them extremely experienced in the food service business. She loved it, discovered she had a knack for coordinating outstanding affairs and decided to form Fleur de Lis Events. Her company quickly soared to the top of the planning pop charts. “Adina is a woman of great ability,” says the manager of a glamorous venue that has worked exclusively with Fleur de Lis. “Everything she does is done with elegance. It’s interesting, out of the box.” “Things never get ‘tangled’ with Adina,” reports a colleague, stressing how events organized by this company always unfold with exceptional grace. Clients call their work stunning, extraordinary and impressive. All agree that Fleur de Lis celebrations are never cliché.
“We’ve set events in museums, on private estates, at historic properties, on beaches and in all sorts of gorgeous, little-known locations,” says Adina. “We are virtual chameleons. We can tailor the background to the need.” In addition, they work with a large number of spectacular restaurants to create meals that will be talked about for years to come. Top this off with enchanting details and special touches the like of which guests have rarely seen. “She is such a standout,” says a colleague who has worked with Fleur de Lis on six events in the last year. “One event even had a live lion. She always goes above and beyond.” Another likes to recollect a two-day wedding she photographed for Fleur de Lis Events. “The first day was beautiful, modern, original. The next day was held on board the Queen Mary with 600 guests. When my assistant and I walked into the room we were speechless,” she says. “It was breathtaking.”
It may be that not even the sky is the limit for Fleur de Lis Events. Their latest enterprise: the Event Loft, a one-stop shopping experience where clients can view videos of past events, browse through the portfolios of carefully chosen vendors and strategize about the big occasion in a relaxing and supportive environment. Colleagues are predicting a phenomenal success.
Is it ever too much to manage? Apparently not for this energetic professional and her expert staff. “I didn’t know it would get so big,” laughs Adina as she reflects on the popularity of her business. “People just kept asking. I never said ‘no.’”
