When the Capturing Moments Photography business grew by leaps and bounds in a short period of time, founder Jaimee Hubert turned to people she could trust to help: her family. Jaimee hired her mother, a skilled photographer in her own right, to be the second shooter at most of her clients’ weddings. Next came Jaimee’s sister, a graphic designer, who now creates all of the company’s custom wedding albums. It’s true that lots of people work with family—especially in the world of small business—but what Capturing Moments Photography offers is something special: a close-knit group of dedicated photography professionals who excel at their craft, and a family who understands the dynamics of any wedding day.
They may be a mom-and-pop shop, but Capturing Moments photographers consistently produce eclectic, artistic and thoughtful pictures. Candid shots in a photojournalistic style are their forte, and it’s not uncommon for Jaimee to shoot a bride with her head thrown back in laughter or the wedding party cutting it up on the dance floor. At the same time, if the client wants something slightly more traditional—bridesmaids all in a row, or a silhouette of the bride—she can happily accommodate those wishes. Called an “exceptionally talented photographer” by more than one of her peers, Jaimee is known for her artful approach. “She has a great eye for the little quirky things that help to make the results creative and unique,” says one vendor. “She knows how to find the right angles, and the finished product is very good.”
In addition to gorgeous shots, Jaimee provides clients with truly flexible pricing. She believes that “normal” folks should be able to afford high-quality wedding photography, which is why she keeps her overhead low by working out of her home office. Capturing Moments creates custom packages or offers an hourly rate, if necessary; plus, Jaimee gives each bride the copyright on all images. “She worked with us on a package that was right for us,” explains one bride. “She was timely with our proofs and her prices were very reasonable.” Another vendor concurs: “Her price is fair, her quality is awesome, and she is great at her craft.”
When asked about the allure of her chosen profession, Jaimee gives a warm and sincere response that encapsulates why so many brides are thrilled with her company’s photography. “I look at what I do as an art, a fine art,” she explains. “It’s in my heart to go with the best, most high-quality approach—what I would want if it were my wedding. I also take a heck of a lot of shots, edit EVERY picture and I really try to go out of my way for every bride.”
Professional yet down to earth, extremely capable but affordable, Jaimee and her family-run business give clients a reason to relax and just go with the spirit of the wedding day.
