What 3 words describe your work? Fun, beautiful and satisfying.
Why should someone hire you? I love what I do. I'm outgoing and enthusiastic. The challenge of creating someone's dreams makes me the professional that I am. Every wedding I do is a different one, and that's FUN!
How did you get started? I actually began as a pastry chef and had my own business doing wedding cakes. I was told they were the best cakes anyone had ever tasted and my designs were beautiful. I began putting flowers onto the cakes back when that was not done. Well, one thing led to another and clients starting asking for bouquets and centerpieces. The perfectionist in me said I had to choose only one and be the best at that one thing—either pastry chef or floral designer.
So I became a floral designer, self-taught and determined to be the best at what I did. Now, after many years of designing flowers for weddings, 5-star hotels and major corporations, I am glad to have chosen this path.
Tell us about a wedding you worked on that really makes you proud: All my weddings make me proud and I work very hard to achieve perfection in each and every one. When we load up a wedding, I always make sure that there is nothing left out and nothing more I would have done to the designs.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: Oh, I have so many interesting moments to share. One of my most memorable moments was from a wedding where the cake fell into a nearby fountain and I was able to repair it because of my pastry experience.
What have weddings taught you? Weddings have taught me to *listen* to my clients, to be *patient* with them, and *create* every wedding to the best of my ability.
What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding? Enjoy every moment of the planning process. Although it can be frustrating, you are making memories, memories that will last forever.
