“Ladies and gentlemen, friends and family, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome each and every one of you to this very special occasion,” says David Adelstein with the warmth and style that has become his trademark. “At this time we have some very important introductions” And with these words the grand entrance begins. First, the parents followed by the bridal party make their way into the ballroom to the enthusiastic applause of all the guests. Each name is spoken clearly, pronounced correctly. A special selection of music plays as the guests rise, giving the bride and groom a standing ovation. The newlyweds make their way to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.

“Seamlessly smooth,” “elegant,” “polished” and “dignified” are words that best characterize David and the way he works. With over 35 years of experience in the music and entertainment field, this DJ/MC, musician and vocalist has done it all. David comes from a musical family—his father started him on piano lessons at age five. Later, he learned to play the clarinet, saxophone, flute, guitar and bass as well. But it was in high school, while he and his fellow band members played at local high school dances, military bases and private parties, that David refined his musicianship and performance skills. By the time he was in his early twenties, he was touring with artists like Bob Welch and Rick Springfield, and recording on numerous albums, including those of Stevie Nicks and Santana. David also scored on the Billboard charts as a songwriter with two Top 40 hits.

Over twenty years ago David began to DJ and emcee, a natural evolution given the depth of his experience as an entertainer and his abilities as a planner and coordinator for special events. Today, David’s company employs a variety of DJ/MCs of diverse ages who work in many different styles; some also have bilingual capabilities. Additionally, David offers live music, everything from swinging big bands to classical ensembles and soloists, as well as specialty entertainers and shows.

“It’s not just about the music; it’s about the right music,” explains David. “Timing is everything: knowing how to read your audience and delivering just what they need at that particular moment can give a party the extra edge.” People who work with David think his timing is impeccable. “As a DJ, he can handle any crowd,” says a fellow musician and booking agent. “He knows when and how to get a party going, and when to tone things down.” A coordinator who’s done numerous weddings with David appreciates his attention to the flow of the event: “David is always focused on what’s going on. He knows how vital timing issues are and is always cued in correctly for every stage of the wedding. When he’s working with me, coordination is stress free.”

David’s wedding clients are equally dazzled. “From serving as our pianist for our wedding ceremony to being our Master of Ceremonies at the reception, to playing music that made sure everyone got up and danced all night, everything was wonderful,” exclaimed one couple. “We’re extraordinarily impressed,” declared another. “You by far surpass all other entertainers that we’ve seen. We’ll be sending all of our friends over to you!”

Although he’s multi-talented and highly respected in the music industry, David hasn’t let success go to his head. As another entertainer says with affectionate admiration, “David is one of the most straight ahead guys I know. He’s got a great attitude, he’s always thoroughly prepared and he’s very inventive. He’s the real thing: a true professional.”
