About This Company
Cynthia Adkins is like a fairy godmother—on a grand scale. Since 1996 when she opened A Legendary Affair, her wedding and party planning showroom, she’s helped countless brides and grooms find all the products and services that are right for them, and she’s never charged them a dime.
To fully understand what a fabulous service Cynthia provides, imagine this scenario: You’re at a bridal fair. Only this time, the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. No crowds, no rushing around. You can relax with a cup of coffee or tea, and take a leisurely look at the beautiful exhibits, which include photographs and product samples from dozens of vendors—all of whom have been pre-screened and carefully selected for the high quality of their product or service, as well as their reputation and personality. There’s also a video viewing room for previewing entertainers and videographers, and a place for private meetings with professionals. And unlike conventional bridal fairs, this showroom is open year-round so you can go back as often as you like.
But perhaps the most valuable asset of A Legendary Affair is Cynthia herself. As one bridal consultant has observed, “Cynthia is lovely to her prospective brides and grooms. No matter what stage they’re at in the planning, she will guide them in an unbiased way to vendors that fit their needs and their particular style…and there’s never any pressure.” A facility manager adds, “Cynthia makes you feel like you’re part of her family. She’s the best—fun, easy to talk to, and always so supportive. She goes out of her way to do things that no one else would do.”
In addition to her charisma and enthusiasm, vendors who work with Cynthia are extremely impressed with the way she runs her business. “Her showroom is fantastic…the displays are very effectively done,” says a photographer. Others cite her professionalism, noting that she has the same high standards as her former employer, the Ritz-Carlton. Cynthia offers both high-end and more affordable vendors, so that no matter what a couple’s budget is there are lots of options to choose from. Event professionals and prospective couples are also grateful for the use of a neutral, convenient place where they can meet—day or evening.

An absolutely free service to the bride. Cynthia very thoroughly researches every one of the vendors and locations featured in her showroom. Her service is somewhat like a very upscale bridal show that is available year round. Brides can view preview tapes in the Video Viewing Room and look at examples of photographer’s work, and view florists’ sample books, etc. Many vendors offer special discounts to brides who find them through A Legendary Affair.
