Why We Like This Place

  • This historic landmark has a romantic backstory. Built in 1885 by a ship captain as a wedding gift for his wife (Daniel Boone’s great granddaughter), it still displays her original wedding gown.
  • The property’s lush flower gardens are only 10 minutes from downtown Portland. You’ll also find an expansive white-roofed gazebo for your ceremony and a circular brick terrace, complete with cherub-adorned fountain, for a gracious al fresco celebration.
  • The Victorian mansion offers a wonderful array of period details. From gingerbread trim outside to gleaming wood and velvet settees inside, this unique locale is an event favorite—especially during its Miracle of a Million lights holiday season.
