This local favorite has earned a reputation for its great value and scenic vistas. Plus, its year-round golf course—designed by American Society of Golf Course Architect Fred Bliss and long-time Bay Area resident and World Golf Hall of Famer Johnny Miller—has been awarded sanctuary status by Audubon International. The entire property has a spacious feel, and long views to the Oakland hills, the bay, downtown Oakland and the San Francisco skyline lend it an uplifting outlook and unhurried charm. Not only is Wedgwood Metropolitan a terrific venue for golf events, corporate functions and holiday parties, it’s also become a popular choice for East Bay weddings.

An expansive lawn, complete with a romantic gazebo and splashing fountain, is custom-made for wedding ceremonies next to the emerald-green fairways. While the wedding party poses for photos, guests follow a breezeway to the patio of the golf course’s Sweet Spot Café where they mingle over cocktails. Surrounded by attractive landscaping, the patio features uninterrupted views of the course and the bayside surroundings. Dinner and dancing take place nearby in two adjoining spaces: A sizable banquet room, with windows along two walls, that opens onto a glamorous 3,000-square-foot tent. Outfitted with amenities such as a built-in bar, state-of-the-art sound system, dance floor, elegantly draped ceiling, carpeting and cooling Casablanca fans, the tent is a fun and stylish “party central.”

Of course, one of the most reassuring aspects of booking an event at this appealing East Bay location is the professionalism and service you’ll receive in the hands of Wedgewood’s expert staff. Well known for providing a stress-free planning experience, Wedgewood offers a choice of five wedding packages, some of which include invitations, flowers, wedding cake and music, as well as the DJ, minister and menu. All the vendors have been carefully screened to ensure top quality, affordability and maximum satisfaction. Menu selections are varied and generous with room for customization.

Will you choose the cream-white dendrobium orchids and bear grass in tall cylinder vases or the big bowls of floating roses, gerberas or gardenias? The stacked whipped cream wedding cake with fresh flowers or the white-chocolate cake shaped like a gift box with a cascading ribbon? We can’t list all of your options, but we can promise you this: You won’t have to do any legwork, you’ll know just what you’re getting—and you won’t lose track of the cost. The only thing you’ll have to think about is what to do after the celebration is over.

Fees & Deposits

A 25% deposit is required to reserve your date. The next 25% is due 120 days prior to the event and the balance is due 10 days prior. All-inclusive wedding packages start at $30/person. Tax, alcohol and a 21–22% service charge are additional.
