Why We Like This Place

Some couples opt for a small wedding, with just their nearest and dearest in attendance. Then there are those exuberant souls who want to share their once-in-a-lifetime experience with everyone, from next of kin and good friends to third cousins twice removed. If you fall into the latter category, we’ve got a great suggestion for you: Check out Villa Ragusa, located in the historic downtown section of Campbell.

Built in traditional Mediterranean style, with a stucco façade and red-tile roof, Villa Ragusa blends in so seamlessly with its vintage neighbors it’s hard to believe it’s only been here since 2001. Inside, the simple European-style décor gives the villa an Old World ambiance, yet everything is freshly painted and polished to a high gloss.

When you enter the facility, a grand staircase leads to the Foyer, whose flawless limestone-and- granite floor glistens like a frozen pond. Four wooden double doors lead from the Foyer to the immense room that is the heart of Villa Ragusa. Here, the visual details are spare but carefully chosen. The thick carpeting, patterned in shades of maroon, green, gold and cream, looks as if no one has ever walked on it, and the dark wood bar that occupies one side of the space is immaculate and gleaming. Round frosted-glass-and-brass chandeliers are suspended from the coffered white ceiling, and arched windows let natural light stream in. The walls, painted in soft neutral shades of gray-green and cream, are enlivened by architectural elements such as pilasters, molding and wooden wainscoting. French doors lead to a covered deck that wraps around two sides of the building, making a great place for guests to mingle and enjoy Campbell’s salubrious climate.

Although Villa Ragusa can accommodate 600 people, it can be divided into smaller galleries holding from 100 to 400 seated guests. Naturally, they provide portable bars and dance floors, and some of the galleries are available for wedding ceremonies. Villa Ragusa is also more than happy to book other types of events. They’ve hosted everything from Little League dinners to giant corporate parties, and the City of Campbell is one of their frequent clients. Last, but not least, there’s plenty of parking in the 350-space garage just down the street. So go ahead and send a wedding invitation to that cousin from back east that you haven’t seen since you were five years old, and anyone else you can think of. There’s room for everyone up at Villa Ragusa.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Campbell Gallery holds 300 seated, and the West Gallery holds 250 seated.

Fees & Deposits

For events, a nonrefundable deposit of $2,000 is required to reserve your date. The final balance is due 10 days prior to the event. Beverage packages range $6–28/person, and include beverages and bar service. The ceremony fee is $1,500, including chairs, setup and use of the facility. Wedding packages start at $66/person.
