Why We Like This Place
Nestled at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos offers a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere and quaint charm. Its shingled walls, cheerful balconies and mansard-roofed clock tower give it an old-fashioned feel. Those planning a special event appreciate its convenient location—it’s within easy walking distance of downtown shops and restaurants, 30 minutes from Santa Cruz, and 60 minutes from Monterey Bay via Highway 17.
The hotel has both indoor and outdoor event areas. Inside, the aptly named Capitola Room is tailor-made for corporate functions. The Summit Ballroom is used for weddings and receptions and has plenty of space for dancing. Prefunction events are held in the adjacent Lobby, whose overstuffed green damask chairs and loveseats tempt you to relax and contemplate the classical paintings hung on the walls. There’s also Three Degrees, a private dining room off the Toll House Restaurant.
In the center of the Toll House Hotel, the sunny courtyard is a favorite place for weddings and receptions. A splashing fountain adds refreshing coolness. On the second floor, a small deck overlooks the courtyard. This is also a nice spot for weddings and related events, and rehearsal dinners are frequently held here. The five adjoining rooms that open onto this deck are often rented by the wedding party or close friends. No need for a designated driver when the party is right outside your room!
The Toll House’s relaxed atmosphere makes it popular for bar and bat mitzvahs as well. It’s the kind of place that’s posh enough to make adults feel really pampered, but casual enough to make children feel at home, too.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Courtyard holds 200 seated; the Ballroom 140 seated.
EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Courtyard accommodates 170 seated with dance floor and the Ballroom 120 seated with dance floor, or up to 150 without.
MEETING CAPACITY: Event spaces accommodate 14–180 seated guests.
Fees & Deposits
A nonrefundable deposit equal to 25% of the event total is required to reserve your date; the balance is payable 1 month prior to the event. Room rental fees range $225–1,900 depending on guest count, catering costs and selected room(s).
Meal prices run $36–58/person, and alcohol $10–12/person; tax and a 20% service charge are additional. A $150/bartender charge for each 4-hour block may apply.
Year-round, daily, 7am–11pm.
