Why We Like This Place
Bordered by the maze of rivers and tributaries that make up California’s Delta and positioned amid the rapidly developing region between North Stockton and Lodi, The Reserve at Spanos Park is a golfer’s sanctuary. Designed to blend in with the surrounding environment, the Reserve’s tranquility lies in its offering of wide-open space and stunning sunset views of Mt. Diablo. Golfers are not the only ones seeking asylum at this “reserve.” Blue herons and egrets make occasional appearances among the 18 holes and eight lakes of its 7,000-yard championship course. And although the Reserve has the look and feel of an exclusive country club, fear not—this semiprivate club is affordably priced and does not require membership for facilities usage.
The main event space, the Mount Diablo Room, opened its doors in September of 2004. This versatile 3,200-square-foot venue can accommodate large receptions, rehearsal dinners, bar/bat mitzvahs or corporate events. Whatever celebration you’re planning, you can be assured of eating well: The skilled catering team’s creations feature the region’s bounty of fruits, vegetables (Stockton is home to the Asparagus Festival) and Lodi Appelation wines. Beyond the tiled foyer lies the spacious banquet area, brightened by a wall of windows and a large skylight. The interior is attractively designed with a high ceiling, earth-toned tile and carpet, granite countertops and brick wainscoting. Glass doors open to the western-facing terrace, an ideal place for saying your vows or hosting a rehearsal dinner. Couples also have the option of holding their ceremony on the first tee, overlooking a small lake.
At the adjacent clubhouse, a porte-cochère offers arriving guests shelter from the heat or rain. Inside, two meeting rooms are available as dressing areas for the bride, groom and wedding parties. The relaxed atmosphere at the Clubhouse Bar makes it a perfect spot for friends and family to unwind before or after the ceremony. Out back, a wraparound patio overlooks the fairways and can be used for smaller weddings or informal dinners.
Easy to find and conveniently located, The Reserve at Spanos Park is a little more than a mile west of Interstate 5 between Stockton and Sacramento. Lodging is just minutes away, and shopping is close by for those last minute gifts.
While you don’t have to be a golfer to hold your event at The Reserve, golf enthusiasts will certainly appreciate their state-of-the-art indoor learning center, first-rate practice facility, and complete short game area. Whether you choose to link up at the first tee or incorporate a round of golf into your next event, the experienced staff at The Reserve will provide superb customer service and assist you in every aspect of your special celebration.
