For a joyous celebration in the great outdoors few places can top The Ranch at Little Hills. This 25-acre oasis nestled in the East Bay hills next to the vast Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is mere minutes from the freeway, but you and your guests will feel like you’ve managed to get completely away from it all.
The well-equipped property, part of the East Bay Regional Parks system, is perfect for anything from a corporate gathering or family fun to a wedding on the grass—all framed in oaks and canopied by the sky. Events here are run by The California Parks Company, which has successfully catered to over a million guests in their two decades of operation.
A secluded path leads from the parking lot to the Pergola Deck, where wedding parties of all sizes can witness a romantic ceremony. Afterwards, it’s just a few steps to Oak Knoll for the reception. Here, a natural wood fence and enormous live oaks seclude the large white pavilion and patio. Twinkle lights, lanterns, uplights and spots can augment moonlight and stars when night falls. There’s a pretty little bride’s room close at hand with vanity and mirrors, white wicker furniture and a closet for gowns and accessories. Another plus: an on-site coordinator to take care of all the details.
If Oak Knoll is too formal, kick back in Moonshine Heaven or Buckeye Flat, where picnic tables amid parkland trees set the scene for relaxed al fresco dining. Host a fabulous high-end picnic or a quaint wedding in the woods, and feel free to bring in hay bales and live musicians to add flair to your ranch-style affair.
No matter where your wedding takes place, you’ll find a plethora of photo opportunities throughout the park. There are also numerous places where you and your new spouse can take a break from the festivities and steal a few moments alone.
More than likely if you’ve opted for a natural environment, outdoor activities will be part of the mix. The Ranch at Little Hills has a wealth of options. You can party poolside near the Pergola Deck and lawn, or take your celebration over to Lowlander’s Holler and entertain guests in a shady pavilion surrounded by two softball fields, basketball hoops, a rock climbing area, dunk tank, trout pond and more.
From corporate and school groups to wedding celebrants, everyone seems to enjoy themselves here. So why not prolong the party? Out-of-towners who wish to extend their stay in the sunny East Bay will find a wide range of accommodations nearby, as well as a variety of great things to see and do.

The rental fee is required to reserve your date, and the balance is due 2 weeks prior to the event. The rental fee is $3,995. Catering packages range $24–45/person and beverage packages range $10–20/person.
