Why We Like This Place

Set in the Sierra Mountains near Donner Lake, The Lodge is a wonderful place to celebrate your destination special event amid breathtaking pastoral beauty. This popular restaurant and banquet center is the cornerstone of Tahoe Donner, an exclusive planned community with its own golf course and access to a wealth of outdoor recreation. Many of these activities, such as the equestrian center, tennis, skiing, camping, golf and more, are also open to the public.

The Lodge is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking emerald fairways, towering pines and the rugged sierras. A proud member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program, it puts both the glories of the natural world and Classic Tahoe-style amenities at your disposal.

Spring through fall, wedding ceremonies can be held at one of The Lodge’s picturesque sites. The Pavilion Area, just outside the restaurant, offers a beautiful arbor overlooking the wooded mountains. Say “I do” right on the grass, then enjoy cocktails and appetizers al fresco followed by your reception in the adjacent tiled Pavilion. This spacious peaked tent, luxuriously draped in pleated white fabric, is compatible with any style of décor and the clear sides all around let the outside in.

For a more intimate ceremony, cocktail party or dinner, host it in the landscaped Grotto, which features a waterfall and also provides some lovely photo opportunities.

In the winter months, all of The Lodge’s interior spaces are warm and inviting, with alderwood trim and high, open-beamed ceilings. Huge picture windows capture the dynamic view, which is especially compelling in winter when the trees and mountains wear a dusting of snow, creating a magnificent panoramic landscape.

The Sage and Aspen Rooms on the second story are cozy settings for rehearsal dinners, family reunions, or birthday parties. Both overlook the 18th green and the Aspen Room has a fireplace. The attractive downstairs banquet room is a private reception option in any season. And last but not least, The Lodge’s pub is available, too, as a fun spot for the after-party.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Lodge accommodates 90 seated indoors and 200 seated outdoors.

EVENT/RECEPTION & MEETING CAPACITY: The facility holds 94 seated and 120 standing indoors; 200 seated and 350 standing outdoors.

Fees & Deposits

20% of the estimated event total is required to reserve your date. The balance is due on the day of the event. Rental fees range $500–2,500 depending on the space rented. Meals range $28–75/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional.

Availability

The outdoor space is available June through October (weather permitting), 8am–10pm. Indoor spaces are available year-round, 6am–10pm.
